mLearning returned - secondary level

There have been a few other posts on this subject, but let's review, shall we? There are many ways a cell phone can be utilized within the secondary level classroom. Some examples: a quick way for students to respond to a question to show understanding the lesson's concept; listen to a quick audio quote from a historian and write a response; read a blog entry; listen to a quick recapture of the class; view a presentation; text a response to a bonus question over the weekend; ask questions when not in the classroom with the teacher; etc...

These are totally reasonable ideas to get students motivated and excited about learning while utilizing current, seemingly common-place, technology. However, there are also some reasonable concerns as noted in this article. I appreciate the varied perspectives of students, teachers, and parents in regard to this cell phone use within the high school realm. Note, this article doesn't totally capture the concept of mLearning, but it does capture common thoughts on cell phones within the education system:

enhance learning on the secondary level) just yet. I believe it can/will be a valuable tool to enhance and engage the learning process. At the same time, I seel how cell phones are distracting on this level, as well. Perhaps it has a place in the post-secondary realm and on the work-force, but the maturity level isn't quite there on the secondary level? I'm torn in my thoughts at the moment.
