Kids games and learning

Technology improves with every passing day. I see games for kids getting better as well, BUT I think that they could be greatly improved. More and more you see kids playing video games in excess. I strongly feel that toy companies or even e-Learning types of companies should embrace this and create more educational video games for these sorts of systems. I remember in elementary school when we used to have computer class with the huge floppy disks. Elementary students still have computer class in school so they should have educational games to get them interested. Once they play these games in school, they may want them for home. Also these games could be available on systems such as X box 360 or playstation. I remember after playing Oregon trail in class in fifth grade we all wanted it to play at home, except we didn't all have computers. Today computers are like televisions, almost every family has at least one! Using these interesting games and such they can get students and younger kids interested in topics such as history, science, social studies and even languages. I think if they make them like games such as Halo or something of that sort where they have to do conquests and activities like that they may learn more.
